our women’s team competed and won at a big tournament in beautiful Victoria, BC

Congratulations to the On Target Training Competition team on their huge wins!

The women of the On Target Training PDX boxing team hit the road for the biggest international all womens tournament on the west coast. We had a fantastic time boxing at the West Coast Wonder Woman+ event last weekend. Coaches Jordan and Sarah had the honor of working with women from three different portland boxing gyms to amass a record of 5-1 over the weekend.

Our own Priscilla and Tia put together an impressive 2-1 record for the team. Priscilla stepped into the ring for the very first time at 31 years old and battled her heart out over 3 rounds. She lost a close, split decision but her training and hard work clearly showed as she landed some great right hands, moved her feet well and dictated the pace of the bout. Tia “the train of” payne made her much anticipated return to the ring fighting twice and earning herself two TKOs. her second bout was against an experienced and game opponent from mexico.

All and all it was a great weekend for our team, our community, our boxers and coaching staff. WCWW+ put on a fantastic event that showcased everyone’s boxing skills while building the womens boxing community up! We made friends, networked with other coaches and are already planning on returning next year to do it all again.
