Bryan Sanchez
Trainer
Professional boxer Bryan Sanchez is a staple in the Portland boxing community. Bryan got his start in combat sports with MMA like so many other young men. After a knee injury kept him from grappling Bryan opted to pursue boxing instead and went on to capture multiple state titles before competing on the national stage as an amatuer. Bryan made his profesional boxing debut in 2019 and won with a stunning first round knock out and is currently undefeated. Coach Bryan has continued his own training while investing in his clients health and well being. Bryan specializes in private and small group boxing and kickboxing training and enjoys sharing his own rigorous body weight routine with his clients. His passion for our sport comes through with each and every person he trains. When he’s not in the gym Bryan can be found shooting hoops and chasing his son Prince around the park.
Sam Mednick
Trainer
Meet Sam Mednick, Daruma Combat Sport’s newest coach. Sam was one of the finalists in the 2023 Oregon state golden gloves tournament. Don’t let the baby face fool you, Sam is a fantastic coach and trainer who is a NASM certified personal trainer that has been honing his craft both in and out of the ring for years. Sam coaches boxing classes at several gyms around town while competing as both a boxer and mma fighter. Since being hired Sam has quickly become Coach Jordan’s right hand man. Sam is another jack of all trades who loves working with kids and adults alike to make them more self confident and capable of overcoming any of their goals. Boxing, kickboxing, or personal training- Sam happily works with hobbyists and competitors alike. Sam loves cooking and developing new recipes that are healthy versions of his favorite sweet treats.
Isaiah Schaub
Assistant Head Coach
Meet Isaiah, A passionate boxing coach with amateur boxing experience . Isaiah works with clients of all skill levels, from complete beginners to seasoned professionals and truly enjoys helping each and every one of them reach their full potential. Coach Isaiah loves the mental puzzle and challenges boxing presents. It's not just a physical sport - it requires focus, strategy, and mental toughness. Isaiah has mastered pushing his students to their limits and watching them grow both as athletes and as individuals. As a trainer, He focuses on building confidence, strength, and self-defense skills.
When he’s not in the gym, this young coach spend most of his time studying about the sport, growing my knowledge as a trainer while exploring new and different hobbies around the city.
Nate Ronan
Head Wrestling Coach
Coach Nate Ronan heads up both our wrestling and “mat ready” conditioning programs. Nate specializes in helping wrestlers, Jiu-Jitsu hobbyists and competitors, former athletes and every day people get into the best shape of their lives. Nate was a Pennsylvania High School State qualifier, a Division 1 college wrestler for Bloomsburg University, the FCFF light heavyweight champion, the Head Coach of grant youth program in 2022, Head coach grant middle school 2022, and the Assistant grant high school wrestling coach in 2022. Nate has fought for and coached at American Top Team Portland where he is currently a Professional MMA fighter on their elite competition team.
Chris Doodnath
Chris Doodnath is am a certified personal trainer through ISSA and a USA boxing certified coach. With over 10 years of experience in boxing, Chris has trained with the who’s who of the Portland metro area, absorbing knowledge from a diverse range of fighters and coaches. His passion for the sport drives him to constantly learn and evolve. Outside the gym, Chris has a deep love for freshwater aquatics and is an avid car enthusiast. Whether it's perfecting a jab or fine-tuning an engine, He bring dedication and enthusiasm to everything he does.
